Hydroelectricity is needed now more than ever. With regulating power and energy storage, we respond to the electrification of society, needs created by carbon-free investments and the increase in weather-dependent electricity production.
Finland and Europe need plenty more low-emission and flexible electricity production and storage capacity. There is both demand and broad support for hydroelectricity in Finland. Renewable and domestic hydroelectricity is also crucial for Finland’s self-sufficiency and security of supply.
The regulating power we produce is vital to society. As a trailblazer in sustainable and flexible hydropower, our purpose is to enable a smooth energy transition and everyday life in Finland with hydropower. It is a mission that also requires us to change and transform as a company. During our 70 years of operation, we have been bold innovators, and we will continue on this path.
